Objects that are not blackbodies still emit more radiation when they are hotter, for the most part. It's just that there is no specific equation relating the emission rate to the temperature as there is with a blackbody.

The Earth is much cooler than the Sun, so the lambda-max for the Earth is going to be at a much larger wavelength than the Sun's.
