06/06/14

The second closed-book exam will be given Thursday, June 12, 2014, 12:00-2:00 pm. The format is similar to the first closed-book exam, except longer. The exam will take place in the usual lecture room, and you will need to bring a #2 pencil or equivalent and photo ID. The coverage of this exam, which is non-cumulative, begins with the humidity topic.

The third take-home quiz was distributed in lecture Friday, May 30th. It is due before lecture starts on Monday, June 2, 2014. As before, a PDF file of the quiz is posted on the quiz page and responses can be emailed to lew@atmos.ucla.edu before 1:00 pm Monday.

The fourth lab assignment for 3L students has been posted on the lab info page. It is due Friday, June 6th, as is Lab #1.

The third take-home quiz will be distributed in lecture Friday, May 30th. It is due before lecture starts on Monday, June 2, 2014. As before, the responses can be emailed to lew@atmos.ucla.edu before 1:00 pm Monday.

The fourth in-discussion quiz will be given during Week 10 discussion sections (June 4-6).

The third lab assignment has been posted on the lab info page. Airport assignments can be found in the comments to Lab #3 in the MyUCLA Gradebook. This lab assignment is due Wednesday, May 21st.

The second take-home quiz was distributed in class on Wednesday, May 14th and is due before lecture begins on Friday, May 16, 2014. As before, a PDF of the quiz is available on the quiz page of this website and responses can be emailed to Dr. Lew any time before lecture starts on Friday at 1:00 pm. Remember, if you are emailing the responses (either because you cannot submit the quiz in person on Friday or you are emailing it in as insurance in case you are late to class), you should email only the responses in a single email message (along with your name, ID number, and day/time of discussion section), NO ATTACHED DOCUMENTS.

The third scheduled in-lecture quiz will be given Wednesday, April 30, 2014.

The first closed-book exam will be given Friday, May 2, 2014, during the regular class period. It should cover material through the end of lecture Monday, April 28th, though the cut-off can be adjusted to some logical point. Please note that it is relevant to what we are currently covering in lecture, not what it says in the lecture schedule.

The second lab assignment (for 3L students) has been posted on the lab info page. It is due Friday, May 9, 2014.

04/16/14

The first take-home quiz was distributed in lecture on Wednesday, April 16th. A PDF file of the quiz has been posted on the quiz page of this website (click on "Quiz" in the navigation bar above). It ise due before lecture starts on Friday, April 18, 2014. If you are not going to be present on Friday to submit the quiz or may be late to class on Friday, then you may email the responses only (no attached documents) to Dr. Lew before 1:00 pm on Friday. Late quizzes, whether emailed or submitted in person, are not accepted for credit!

The second in-lecture quiz will be given Wednesday, April 16th. The firs take-home quiz will also be distributed Wednesday. It will be due before lecture starts on Friday, April 18, 2014.

The first lab assignment (for students enrolled in 3L) has been available on the labinfo page for at least a week. Click the "LAB" tab for more details, or go to the CCLE Moodle site for 3L.

04/02/14

The room for the lecture has been changed to Kinsey Pavilion 1220B. This is effective immediately, so that's where we'll be Friday, April 4th and beyond.

The first in-discussion quiz will occur during the Week 2 discussion sections. You must go only to the section in which you are enrolled if you expect to get credit for your quiz.

Lectures start Monday, March 31, 2014 at 1:00 pm. Discussion sections WILL meet during Week 1.

The first in-lecture quiz is scheduled for Wednesday, April 2, 2014. Be sure to bring US Letter-size paper for this quiz.
